Nikon F Rewind Knobs with Special Engravings

Some cameras are coming with special engravings on the rewind knob. The reason for that is not documented and therefore not clear. The engravings usually are found on chrome bodies, very seldom on black bodies.

E·P-Engraving on Rewind Knob type 1

The F-bodies distributed and sold through the military «PX» (Post eXchange) system of duty free shops are marked on the rewind knob type 1 with an engraved «E·P» within a rhombus. «E·P» could therefore mean «Export Permitted».

Recorded body numbers between 6403481 and 6472504.

Examples: 6418391.
